CESA has obtained the NADCAP certification in HVOF for “clean” coating by high-velocity oxyfuel spraying.

CESA is happy to announce that it has obtained the Nadcap Certification for HVOF (High-Velocity OxyFuel) in its plant in Getafe (Madrid), thereby becoming one of the first companies to obtain this certification in Spain.

Nadcap is the only independent institution recognised worldwide by all DOAs of the aerospace sector for granting certifications for special manufacturing processes. It was created to enable profitable consensus models in the management of special products and processes, as well as to guarantee continuous improvements in the aerospace sector.
High-velocity oxyfuel spraying (HVOF) is used to improve the surface characteristics of a component. It consists of creating layers by spraying molten particles on the surface using a stream at a high temperature and velocity, which creates a dense coating that can be ground to obtain an ideal surface coating for corrosion and friction wear situations.

The benefits obtained by this process are, among others:
– Improved efficiency
– Cost reduction
– Longer component lifetime
– Improved electrical properties
– It improves resistance to wear and corrosion

The technology used by CESA (deposition of tungsten-cobalt-chromium carbides) complies with the REACH European Norm and allows replacing the Hard Chroming of parts with an alternative process free of Cr+6, for health and environmental protection from the risks associated with the use of these chemical compounds.
CESA has made a great effort to obtain this accreditation in the 7 months that the process has lasted, and it represents a milestone achievement for the Getafe plant as well as an increase in its internal production capacity by having a state of the art HVOF unit.
