The Closing Ceremony of Prosave² Project, Project for Research into Advanced Systems for a more eco-efficient aeroplane, took place last Wednesday 26 November. It began in 2010 within the framework of the CENIT (National Strategic Consortia for Technical Research) Programme in its final edition, and has now come to an end four years later.
Attending this event were the members of this consortium led by CESA and comprised of 18 companies (big companies and SMEs) and 19 research centres and universities as well as CDTI (Centre for Industrial Technological Development) representatives.
Mr Jose Leal, Chairman and CEO of CESA was tasked with giving the opening speech. After his speech he turned things over to the Chairman of the Promotion and Cooperation Division of the CDTI, Mr Andrés Zabara. The CENT Programme was designed by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation and managed by the CDTI. Its purpose was to promote research and innovation in Spain, encouraging cooperation between industry, research centres and universities. The CDTI’s contribution to this project has been of immense help and similar to the contribution to the Framework programmes, topping 12 million euros.
The general goal of the CENIT PROSAVE2 project has been to research and develop new technologies domestically in the field of aeronautical systems and subsystems, allowing Spanish companies to achieve the technological distinction necessary to compete in the demanding international aeronautical market.
The results achieved were explained and exhibited by the companies. Everything from advanced actuation systems and electromechanical actuators to air and gas quality control sensors, materials and processes for improving efficiency, systems for the alternative generation of power through fuel cells, equipment and systems pertaining to the three major activities covered in the Project: Architecture and Control, Materials and Energy Optimisation.
