ESCAPHIB project´s

The ESCAPHIB project´s (Structures and Systems in Tail for a Hybrid Propulsion Passenger Aircraft) ultimate objective is the investigation of four new key blocks of electrical technology that will be tested in a hybrid aircraft demonstrator (E-FAN X) developed by AIRBUS Group. These new blocks to be developed will focus, in particular, on the high-power cooling system, the intake and exhaust of a high-power generation system, the battery protection system and the development of new configurations in tail cones. These systems will be validated  on ground and some of them in flight.

This project is carried out in a consortium between AIRBUS OPERATIONS SL (project leader), ALTRAN INNOVACIÓN SA, CESA (HD Spain), ALAVA INGENIEROS SA and AIRGRUP SL, with the support of several research organizations and technology centres.

The project lasts 3 and a half years, to be executed between 2018 and 2021. This project has the financial support of the CDTI through its Program CIEN for strategic research projects in consortium and was granted in November 2018.
