CESA will be present at the SPIE Astronomical Telescopes + Instrumentation 2014 Exhibition, held in Canada between 22 and 27 June at the Palais des congrès in Montreal, Quebec. This convention is considered to be one of the most prestigious events in the world for terrestrial and space telescope developers, as well as for the development of technology and instrumentation.
Every two years the most important international companies and institutions in the astronomical instruments field come together at this event.
This year, for the first time, a group of Spanish companies and organisations will participate in SPIE at an information pavilion coordinated by ICEX (Stand 101). CESA is located at one of the seven stands comprising the biggest pavilion in the convention.
CESA’s stand provides information about participating in astronomical observation. A support structure for the hexagonal primary mirror segment (M1) of the E-ELT Telescope has been brought to the convention for this purpose. CESA is behind the conceptual and detailed design, manufacture, assembly and testing of three prototypes for the primary mirror support. Another speciality to be found in the exhibition is the electromechanical actuator. CESA was also responsible for the conceptual and detailed design, manufacture, assembly and testing of three prototype electromechanical actuators with nanometric precision for orientation and positioning of the segments.
