The 10th International Show on ‘Make in India’ in Aerospace, Defence, Civil Aviation, Airport Infrastructure and Defence Engineering, Aero India 2015, took place from 18 to 22 February, 2015, in Bangalore, India.
This event can be considered one of the most noteworthy business conferences in the world, especially since Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the “Make in India” initiative in 2015.
The objective of said proposal is to increase GDP, improve quality standards by reducing environmental impact and attract capital and technological investment to the country from several sectors, including the aeronautics industry.
This has all led to India being considered a developing market within the aeronautics industry in which there are different aircraft manufacturing programmes of great interest for the global aeronautics industry.
Not all interested parties, however, have presented such advanced work as CESA. The strategic agreement signed three years ago with the WIPRO company has enabled us to be present at said event, and to show the attending public our capacity and presence within the Indian market, while also sharing a stand with one of the most important companies in the country’s industrial sector.
During Aero India, a significant number of aeronautics companies and institutes approached the WIPRO – CESA stand, showing interest in our capacity. Of particular note were the meetings held with the HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) company, in which we presented our capability in the development, production and qualification for the aeroplane division of servo-actuators for their new light helicopter projects, aircraft landing gear for their LCA Naval version and flap and steering actuator designs for their HTT40 programme.
The HTT40 programme is a light aircraft, with a 950 CV turboprop, currently in development by HAL for pilot training. During this event, and after presenting the Technical and Commercial Offer, CESA was notified that it had been granted the contract for the development, manufacture and flight certification of the emergency accumulator for the hydraulic power system, which is certainly excellent news, above all for having added a new member to our client portfolio in India. This was the culmination of more than a year of work.
The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), the laboratory of the Organisation of Defence Research and Development, and CVRDE (Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment) also showed interest in our capabilities.
In fact, we might state that our attendance at Aero India 2015 has been quite a success for CESA. Thanks to the CESA-WIPRO agreement we stood out from the other companies present.
