congreso 1

CESA participated as a speaker in the 19th Conference on Reliability held in Madrid, on the 22 of November. The event was organised by the Spanish Association for Quality, via their AEC Reliability Community.

This Conference constitutes the most relevant meeting point in the country for Reliability Engineering professionals and for anybody interested in knowing the latest advances, developments, and trends in the areas of reliability, security, and maintenance of industrial facilities.

In this 19th edition, the Conference dealt with different subjects of great interest and relevance in Reliability Engineering amongst which we can highlight asset management, reliability in the manufacturing, aerospace and energy sectors, automatic failure detection and predictive maintenance.

CESA, represented by Elena Garcia LLorente, Product Support Engineer (RAMS & ILS), focused its presentation on the Application of Accelerated Life Tests for Demonstrating Reliability during the development of equipment. The development of new products means finding techniques to improve the robustness and reliability of the equipment, as well as ways to quantify their useful life. Highly-accelerated life tests (HALT) and accelerated life tests (ALT) enable these goals to be achieved

The talk presented an overview of accelerated life tests and their application in two situations. The first practical case provided a step-by-step description of an accelerated life test conducted in CESA, which was meant to demonstrate the reliability of an electromechanical actuator step by step. The second case study showed a Testing Programme for a planned accelerated life test meant to demonstrate the reliability of flight control actuators.
