The FT4B is an R&D project consisting of developing a primary fl ight control system based on cutting-edge ELECTRICALLY-CONTROLLED HYDRAULIC SELFACTUATORS (FLY BY WIRE), together with ADS, for the purpose of obtaining the minimum certifi cation for fl ight, and testing it on a modifi ed C-295 prototype.

IT HAS A COMPLEX ARCHITECTURE, as it needs to incorporate a servo valve, several electrical sensors for different purposes, ranging from measuring the strength of the actuator (through an integrated mechanical sensor) to the position control that will close the control loop into the actuator position, through the specifi cally-developed software.

This technology simplifi es the q-feel mechanism, which will act as a simple, linear force control with hydraulic damping through a spring (feel spring).

PER AEROPLANE, this comprises:
• 7 servo-actuators: 4 for the elevator (pitch) and 3 for the rudder (yaw).
• 3 simplifi ed control boxes: 2 for the elevator (pitch) and 1 for the rudder (yaw).


FEEL SPRING AND DAMPER: This has three different settings, depending on the position of the fl ight control, the elevator and the rudder, which in turn, depends on the servo, with hydraulic damping based on the tripping speed.
